Dr. Wendy Mauntel is an internationally recognized health strategist.
Wendy Mauntel began her medical career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and later as a certified ECMO Specialist, working with trauma, critical care, and neonatal patients for over 35 years before expanding her knowledge to include integrative therapies. She now holds a doctorate in traditional naturopathy as well as certifications in homeopathy, herbalism, and vibrational medicine.
“Looking back, it’s clear why I was drawn to respiratory therapy in my early career, why I “fell” into work with trauma and critical care, and why I was so passionate about helping people,” said Wendy, referring to pioneering work as an ECMO specialist. “Guiding people back to breath is the first step in cultivating awareness to life and alignment to our true Self—and ultimate healing.”
She founded the MerkaMed Institute for Vibrational Medicine in 2010. Together, with Henry Ford Hospital Wellspring Holistic Services, they were the first collaboration to scientifically measure the impact of vibrational medicine on pain, nausea, and anxiety.
As her work progressed, Wendy discovered an important connection between her patients, her friends, family and even herself. When we face a challenge, whether it is health, wealth, or personal, the common thread we all share is the wisdom of the Human spirit and the resilience we gain through adversity.
“Life is such a gift, we can’t always see it or hear it in the harder moments, but if we can quiet the mind and connect to our inner wisdom, the blessings and clarity of what we are being shown can be received," says Wendy.
Through over 40 years in medicine and study, Wendy applies greater meaning to her life— and every life she touches—by opening the connections between our experiences, life challenges, and the more profound story taking place.
“More and more hospitals and healing institutions are combining holistic and complementary healing modalities with our more ‘traditional’ medical model—and it’s because they all work together,” says Wendy. “When patients are more in tune with their bodies and can think clearly ‘beyond’ their pain, they can better articulate and advocate for their health. And when doctors—and anyone who serves others—are more in tune with what’s being presented, they can better use their skills, gifts, and talents toward greater healing for all.”
In addition to her private practice, Wendy Mauntel also makes guest appearances on radio, podcasts, and teleconferences.
